I always get complimented on my skin when getting tanned before a show. The tanners always say, “You must take good care of your skin. We can always tell when someone takes good care of their skin.” Skin is the largest organ of the body, but unlike other organs it is constantly exposed to the environment and is damaged on a daily. Let’s Face it, your skin represents you and it’s the first thing a person sees when they lay eyes on you. A few years ago while looking for a perfect baby show favor I stumbled upon natural soap making. I began to take more of a interest in the ingredients found in most retail soaps. In 2014 I started to make my own soaps and the more I shared my creations the more interested family and friends became. Thus Jamie Jai’s Skin Care was created.
The Deciding Factor
My decision to spend more time creating my own soaps, body butters and sugar scrubs was made based on the security of knowing that I am providing my skin with a product that keeps it moisturized and reduces the amount of irritants applied to it. For example, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is a surfactant that is widely used in soap, bubble bath, toothpaste, shampoos and body wash. You can say its is the stuff that creates that nice lather. SLS breaks the surface tension of molecules so that product and get to the desired area, but it is very drying, can cause irritation and the subject of whether or not it is cancerous is debatable.
What’s In Them?
All of my products are made with shea butter, coco butter, mango butter, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, and caster oil.
Can You Customize Them?
As a matter of fact I can. If you want your soap color or fragrance customized for a baby shower, wedding favors or any other occasion it can be done. Keep in mind the curing process takes about 6 weeks. Curing of the soap is simply letting it set so that the excess water can evaporate out and leave a nice hard bar. The sugar scrubs and body butters can be whipped up quickly.
Bottom line, making healthier choices for skin care is defintely worth it in the long run. Genetics are inevitable! Those pesky spider veins and stretch marks are just a fact of life, but dry chemically or sun damaged skin doesn’t have to be.
Not only do we have an amazing skin care line, but we also offer a all natural hair care line that is free of sulfates and harsh chemicals. Kucka Bug is handmade wth care and formulated to cleanse hair and scalp while preventing the striping of oils.
